Edwyna is licensed by the Texas State Board of Professional Counselors (2009) as a licensed counselor and the Texas Department of State Health Services as a licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. She completed undergraduate work at City University of New York and her graduate degree at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas.
Edwyna works with individuals , adolescents, and children 10 years and older. She has practiced as a counselor in Intensive Outpatient, Residential Treatment, and – since 2010 – private practice. She utilizes Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. As a goal-oriented, solution-focused therapist, her treatment approach is to help clients restore faith in themselves and the future. Her areas of special interest include depression and anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders.
In addition to maintaining a full-time practice at Turning Point Counseling, Edwyna is married and a stepmother to five grown children. She is passionate about helping her clients find solutions and find their way back to peace, joy, and the love of life.
